Sky Ranch Junior Cadet Corps Leadership Camp

08 Mar

On Thursday morning at 6:30AM I get on a bus to go to Leadership Camp with Junior Cadet Corps. It is going to be so much fun, but before we head off to camp we get to greet soldiers home from over seas. I have already done this once before with JCC and I love doing it. It is an honor to get to shake the soldiers hands and welcome them home, and to see the looks on some of the faces of their family when they see someone they know, it is so sweet.

When we are done welcoming them home at the airport then we get to go to LEADERSHIP CAMP! OMG it’s going to be such a great experience. Leadership camp is at Sky Ranch in Texas. I have never been there before but I have seen pictures and it looks exciting. One thing that I am not looking forward to when going is waking up every morning at 5:00AM and running for 3 miles. One thing that is going to be a lot of fun is paint-balling! I have never done that before and it is going to be a blast! We even get to team up against our JCC teachers, but of course they have better aim so we are probably going to lose. (LOL) Leadership Camp is 3 nights and 4 days, a mini-bootcamp. I can’t wait!  One step closer to the Marines…

This post is part of Project We and this week’s theme is kindness.  Greeting the soldiers at the airport is my random act of kindness this week.  Something I love to do.  What do you do for a random act of kindness?

Become a heart surgeon

06 Mar

Becoming a heart surgeon is number 15 on my life list. This is something that I have always wanted to do my whole life, but now as I get older it has changed some. I still want to be a heart surgeon, but now I want to be a surgeon in the Marines. The reason is because I think I could do more being a Surgeon in the Marines than just being a surgeon at a hospital. I want to be in the Marines and serve for our country but I want to do it by helping the men and women who are fighting for it. Being in JCC {Junior Cadet Corps} has really opened up a whole new path for me to take. I don’t think I could ever fight in the war, but being a surgeon is good enough for me.

Do you know anyone in the Marines? Or are you a Veteran? I would love to know.

Become a Camp Counselor

27 Feb

Become a camp counselor at El Tesoro is number 12 on my life list and a very important one to me. I love camp El Tesoro, it is the best camp ever. I go almost every summer for one full week. It is so fun because you get to do all kinds of adventurous things and each week of the summer they have different themes. I have painted horses, went horse back riding, row in a boat, gone fishing, learned camp fire songs and had a blast while attending camp.

I think it would be the coolest thing to be a camp counselor because when you are a kid you always have a blast. When I get to that age when I can no longer go to camp as a camper I want to be a counselor and make kids’ summers the best ever just like my old counselors did for me.

The two pictures below are really old pictures of me at camp.

My first year at camp in 2004 when I was not quite 7 years old.

Me at camp during Birthday Bash week in 2008.  I was almost 11 in this photo.

Junior Cadet Corps – Marine Corps Ball {Yellow}

03 Feb

For this week’s Project We theme we are supposed to share a photo or write about something that goes along with the color yellow. So for this post I edited a picture using Picnik of one of my friends and me at the Marine Corps Ball.  I am in the JCC program at school which stands for Junior Cadet Corps.  Some of the Cadets got to go to the Marine Corps Ball last Friday in Dallas, Texas at W.T. White High School.  It was a lot of fun!  We ate dinner and danced.  Best part was we didn’t have to be in uniform.  I truly enjoy JCC.  We even got to see my teacher act goofy and dance, which you don’t see every day.

GOING TO FORKS, WA

03 Aug

Twilight: Forks, WA albumFor my birthday present I received a Twilight scrapbook and inside was plane tickets to go to Forks, Washington.  I get to stay in the Cullen house which is a big deal to me because I am team Edward and I love Vampires. I leave on the 12th of this month, August. The plane ride will take 4 hours to get there (yikes).  I am counting down the days until I get to go.  It is such a big deal for me since I’m a huge Twilight fan.  I can not wait because we get to take a tour of the town and we get to go down to La Push as well. When I found out that I was going to Forks, WA I started crying because I was so happy.  I wrote a post on how I wanted to go to Forks since it is on my life list.
