Max Irons, Jake Abel, and Chandler Canterbury Interview

15 Mar

On Tuesday I got the chance to interview Max Irons, Jake Abel, and Chandler Canterbury for their upcoming movie The Host. Before we went into the room to interview them, heck even the night before, I was so nervous! I have found out that I get star struck pretty easy and I was afraid I was going to say the wrong thing. I only got to ask one question though because there were other press in the room. In the video of the interview which is MommaDJane’s you can hear me ask my question at 13:47. (But you should watch the whole thing) Even though I liked both Max and Jake’s answer to my question I have to say I liked Max’s a little more because it was funny.

After the interview we went to Barnes & Noble where I got the chance to not only get the three actors’ autographs but I got to meet the amazing Stephenie Meyer and get her autograph as well!

Now for people who don’t know me really well may not know that Stephenie and the Twilight Saga is why I started reading so much. Twilight was the first full novel that I had read all the way through. So meeting her was a major dream come true for me. I got all four of them to sign the inside cover of my Nook since that is where I bought The Host. The funny thing is that Jake and Max started to scroll through my Nook reading list. Since I had my Nook turned on with The Host loaded on the front, Jake almost autographed the screen because he saw the movie picture on it which was becoming habit for him to sign! He just laughed and was like “well you would have had a new Nook by the end of the day”.  Awesome experience, I think yes! :)

Don’t forget to pre-order your tickets for The Host coming out March 29, 2013.

Nook Tablet

10 Aug

For my birthday I got the latest Nook, the Nook Tablet. The Nook Tablet is an amazing touch screen device and you can read the books in the dark without a book light. I love the Tablet better than my old Nook because the screen is bigger and reading the books are so much more clear. One of its features that I like is that you can download apps on to it. My favorite ones are Twitter and the Bible app. One downfall about it is all the good games you have to pay for and they are kinda expensive compared to my iPhone games I play.  I’m used to finding games for free or $0.99 on my iPhone but on the Nook Tablet they range from $2.99-5.

The Nook Tablet comes with Pandora radio, Netflix, Hulu, and a Music Player already downloaded on it. Of course you can also surf the web and get on all of your favorite websites. One thing that I learned recently is that if you take your Nook into your local Barnes & Nobel you can read any book you like in the store. So if you don’t want to buy a book before you know whether or not you will like it, you can just read it anytime you go to the store. I have not gotten a chance to try it out but I am hoping to soon.

The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner

18 Dec

The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner is one of the many books that I have read.  At first I was not going to read it because I did not think it would be any good, but when it came out and some of my friends read it and told me how good it was I ended up reading it on my Nook. I, of course, ended up loving it just like every other Twilight book that I read. The book helped me know what was going on with Bree and why she did not fight back.  It also gave you some inside on a newborn vampire’s mind and life. The book gave you inside information on the army of newborn vampires that Victoria had created and all the lies that they were told. Even though Bree Tanner was a part of the newborn army she was one of my favorite characters. I give a two thumbs up to Stephenie Meyer for doing such a good job on another great hit.

Since I loved reading Bree Tanner it made meeting Jodelle Ferland even more exciting.

I got a Nook which is a Barnes & Nobel brand of an electronic reader. It is an early birthday present because I could not wait until next month to get it. I had to have it now because I am a book alcoholic and I did not want to buy paper books any more if I was going to get the Nook. So now I have it and I love it, it is perfect for me since it takes seconds to download books. It is touch screen and colorized. I got a free $50 gift card to buy ebooks because I bought it the week Best Buy was having a special. I have read a total of 4 books on my Nook so far and it is great! I also love the feature on it that allows you to keep the books that you have read but you can archive them so you don’t have to go through them to get a book in your library. The Nook holds a really good charge.  Mine went a full week without having to be charged.

Do you own a Nook or another electronic reader?  What is your favorite feature and what books do you read? Share with me in the comments.
