I’ve heard so many things about escape rooms and even seen them featured on TV multiple times but have never had the opportunity to go to one myself. For the first time last week I was able to experience an escape room!
Since they were hosting some of us DFW Bloggers ,they served us refreshments before sending us off into the game.
Fun Fact: Only 25% of people escape the room within their allotted 60 minutes!
After hearing that I instantly assumed, well this is it, I’m going to be locked into a room for 60 minutes and won’t get out until time runs out. It took six of us, with everyone participating, to be able to solve all of the puzzles. I can’t imagine only two people doing it, which is the minimum for the smaller rooms.
We solved all clues and riddles with only 13 minutes to spare! We get to say we are part of the 25%. I will say this Escape Hunt Dallas is definitely not what I expected it to be. You know you build up in your mind what something is going to be like and the experience that we had was so much better than I could have imagined.
Our group participated in the Texas Loan Star room. Which has a max occupancy of 6 players, since it’s the smallest game they have.
Currently, they have three different games available with unique themed rooms. The rotation is roughly 18 months and then it’s time for fresh new challenges.
Texas Loan Star
The famous Texas Lone Star has been stolen from a museum near Dealey Plaza! As proud Dallas detectives, it is up to you to crack the case and hunt down the missing pieces hidden throughout DFW. The exhibition opens in 60 minutes so you must hurry!
It’s the Wild West and your ranch has been accused of cattle rustling. There is only one punishment for cattle rustling: hanging. The gallows are being constructed as you sit in jail, but the sheriff is suddenly called away. You have only 60 minutes to escape and clear your name!
Minimum size: 4 players, Maximum size: 12 players
You and your team are members of a secret time traveling society and have been contracted by Michael S. Bell to find the origin of a world-changing computer hardware fault. However, the time portal will only be open for 60 minutes. You must investigate the past and bring back the solution in time or risk being trapped in the past forever!
Maximum size: 6 players
When walking into the building you automatically feel like you are in a mystery. They have old photos hanging on the walls and pipes sitting on end tables.
To keep the mystery alive and prevent people from sharing the puzzles, they have lockers for you to keep your stuff in while you are in the game. The recommended age is 10-years-old, based on the level of difficulty figuring out the clues. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the escape room.
