- Cover of The Iron King (Harlequin Teen)
I read the book Iron King recently and loved it. It is really different than what I am used to in books because I usually read books about vampires and werewolves. This book is about fairies, princesses and other mythological creatures which is not my usual pick. However, Iron King was really, really good and as soon as I read the first page I was hooked. Meghan Chase, the main character, in the book is a normal girl…. Well at least she thinks she is normal until her 16th birthday when her life changes forever. Meghan lives on a farm in the country and after grieving the loss of her father to her surprise she finds out he wasn’t her real father after all. The story takes many surprising twists and turns.
In the past I read a short story by Julie Kagawa called ‘Winter’s Passage‘, so when I received Iron King I was excited to read it. Being introduced to the books that Julie Kagawa authored has opened up a new venture of reading for me. Even though the stories are completely different than what I’m used to I still enjoyed them just as much.
The next book in Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey Series is Iron Daughter which has already been published, you can buy now. The third book, Iron Queen, comes out January 25, 2011.
