I got the chance to review volumes five and six of R.L. Stine’s TV series. All I can say is that I’m 16 and when I watched the shows they even scared me a little bit. In the beginning it says that parents should watch it with kids under the age of 7 but my brother is 7 and I know for a fact that he would be scared and have nightmares. So I would watch it before letting your little kids watch it. In my opinion volume five episodes 1 and 2 are the scariest to me. It’s a two part episode and it is FREAKY. It’s about a teenage girl calling out to Scary Mary and then Mary haunting her and kidnapping her. One of the scarier parts of it is Mary’s “helpers“, they wear masks that make them look like creepy dolls.
You get to see some familiar faces in volume 5, including Frankie Jonas.
My mom use to read the R.L. Stine books as a kid and when I was younger I read some as well. So when my mom asked if I wanted to review the DVD’s I immediately said yes. I had watched one or two episodes on TV before so I knew that I would like them. Even if you haven’t seen the R.L. Stine’s TV series before there is no need to watch them in chronological order. You can go pick up volumes 5 and 6 now at stores near you since the DVD’s were released on September 3, 2013.
Full Disclosure: I received a copy of volume five and six of R.L. Stine’s series on DVD to review. All opinions are 100% mine.
