Since starting college and blogging, I’ve started writing more goals for myself. At first, I was struggling to achieve my goals even after planning them. Whether they are a short or long term goals, I have now found 5 simple tasks to help me reach my goals successfully.
Five Simple Things You Can Do Today to Achieve Your Goals
1. Schedule Everything
Schedule the work necessary to reach your goals into a calendar. You can use either your phone or a physical planner if you like a pen to paper like I do. Writing a list doesn’t always get the job done – you need to schedule action time for every goal so that you don’t miss a single day working towards success.
Eating healthy is key to goal setting, a healthy body makes for a healthy mind. So start meal prepping on Sunday nights. That way it’s done throughout the week so you have time to focus on your goals. You need to be realistic about how long each action item will take and schedule them into your day properly.
2. Clear, Specific and Doable Goals
For any goal to be achievable it must first be clear and very specific, it also must be possible. Don’t put down become the US President in four years if you have no government experience. Challenging yourself is one thing but creating unrealistic goals will just bring you down in the long run. You don’t need that discouragement.
3. Each Goal Needs Set Tasks
As mentioned above, using a planner provides you with the space to write step-by-step tasks to reach your goal. It’s proven that you remember stuff better if you write it down on paper. When making a goal, make sure that you know how to achieve it and what steps you have to take to get you there.
4. Take Action
No goal will ever be achieved if regular action isn’t taken each day. Each morning, look at your calendar and follow through on the plans that you’ve made. All you have to do is the daily steps to achieve your goal. Success is the only result of daily action.
Finally, you’ll need to repeat these steps every single day. The real secret is in the doing. It’s like going on a long hike – if you take one step at a time, moving in the direction of the map that you’ve planned out for yourself, you will get to the end and achieve your goal destination.
Achieving success is just a matter of setting reasonable and realistic goals, and then setting up a schedule of actionable tasks and steps that bring about the end result you want.
