Hawaiian Falls is a great water park to take the family and have a nice day cooling off from this dreadful Texas heat. The unique thing about Hawaiian Falls is that it offers activities fun for all ages while remaining small enough to not be overwhelming. If you have a large family and some of the kids want to go ride a water side on one side of the park but the others want to do one on another, you can let them go without the fear of them getting lost. Hawaiian Falls does offer military discounts on tickets. If you or a family member is in the military you can save $7 off daily admission.
Family Day at Hawaiian Falls
Hawaiian Falls is extremely family-friendly and allows you to bring food and drinks into the park. I recommend taking a cooler and packing snacks and lunches. You do have to pay for a cooler pass which is only $10 for any size. If you don’t want to take a cooler and you just bring a bag of snacks then you don’t have to pay for the cooler pass.
If you purchase a season pass it’s a great investment to purchase the souvenir cup that they sell. It’s only $0.99 to fill up after your first free day. If you decide to visit the water park for only a couple of hours at a time, it’s easier to get a dollar drink than bringing a full cooler. Being out in the heat can really dehydrate you so you will want a drink to have in between slides and the lazy river.
The lazy river is one of my family’s favorite things to do at the water park. It’s nice and relaxing. After running around doing slide after slide, you can hop in the wave pool, get on a tube and float around a couple of times. Think before bringing water shoes to the park because you have to remove them when going down every slide, no matter what age you are. So if you have little kids that won’t be able to hold on to their water shoes and tube then maybe skip them for this trip or plan to leave them at your chair. Hawaiian Falls tries to keep the concrete cooled off as best as possible so going without water shoes should be okay. There are plenty of pathways that are covered in water.

Don’t forget your waterproof smartphone case so you can take photos while at the park!
Hawaiian Falls is my brother’s favorite place to spend hot summer days.
