Dissection of a Frog in Biology

Today in Biology I got the chance to dissect my very first frog. Even though I want to preform surgery on people in the future I hated dissecting that frog! It smelt so bad and it had liquid oozing out of it the whole time!

My teacher did let us take pictures throughout the process so I got some really good ones. The skin of the frog was really rubbery and when we cut it, it was like cutting paper. Something really funny is that my group’s frog had a six pack once we cut it open.

Not only did we get to cut it open we had to break its jaw too! But a really cool thing, is that we are dissecting all this week and I’m going to get the chance to learn the anatomy of a cat through dissection. Tomorrow I am going to get to take all the organs out of the frog. I am really excited to get to do that because I want to see what the heart of a frog looks like. I am interested in it because I want to be a heart surgeon so I want to see how different the frogs heart is to a human one.

Traveling Elephant – Athens

The Traveling Elephant is a stuffed elephant that my boyfriend gave me during homecoming. I decided to take it with me on my trip and take pictures of it at the different places that I visited. It is turning out to be so much fun. One place that Peanut ( It’s name) has visited so far is Athens.


I loved visiting it because I got to see Zeus’s Temple! We also got to see statues of some of the greek gods!


Athens had such an amazing view. Peanut did not get her picture with the view in the background but I got the chance to.

We still have a little over a week to go till we go home. I am loving every minute that I am getting to spend seeing all of these amazing places. I do miss every one at home though a lot. Being in a foreign place really makes you appreciate home a lot more.

So after months of looking at pictures on Instagram of other people’s Wreck This Journal I finally got my very own on my birthday!! I am so excited because I have wanted one for such a long time and Wreck This Journal is so much fun to do. I can’t say what my favorite page is so far because I had such a good time wrecking them all.

I received my learner permit!!!

Tuesday was my 15th birthday and to make that birthday perfect I got my permit!! I was so excited when I got it. I had to take two tests in driver’s ed on Monday before I could get my slip to get my permit. I made an 85 on one of them and an 100 on the other. After I got my permit my mom let me drive in the parking lot of our church, and I have to admit that I was not so good at it. :) I thought it was cool when I got my permit because I got to have my picture made and I also get a card in the mail in two to three weeks which I think is the coolest thing in the world.

So far I have completed four days of Drivers Ed and they have been really boring!! lol I had to watch an hour long video on the first day all about street signs and what shapes mean what and what the lines on the road mean and all this junk. Then I had to take a 70 question test on all of it, well today we graded them and I only missed 5 out of that 70!! I’m so happy because that was my first test in Drivers Ed and I passed with an A. :)

One thing that I learned on the first day is that we can get tickets in the Drivers Ed car “so y’all better not run red lights” my teacher said. I’m excited because I get my permit next week so I can start to drive in the car with my mom. Although when we were talking she freaked out and said that her blood pressure was starting to get high just thinking about letting me drive. I told her that I wanted to start driving to drivers ed with her in the passenger seat and I think she was going to cry thinking about me growing up so fast.

I am happy that I will have a year with my permit instead of just six months because that gives me longer to practice my driving before I’m just handed my drivers license. I hope that I take my permit test on Monday so I can go get my permit on my birthday which is Tuesday and I can drive on my actual 15th birthday. That would be the best birthday ever to get to drive.
