Yearbook!

13 Dec

I am really excited because this year I get to be a part of the yearbook staff. Not just on the staff, I am Co-Editor in Chief! I am so excited because I get to be the second in charge besides the teacher. :) Yearbook is a very important thing to me because it’s like middle school journalism and I really want to take journalism next year in high school. One thing that got me motivated into being on the yearbook staff was because last year our yearbook was really bad! It looked just like the year before. So I decided that I wanted some input as to what is going to happen with my last middle school yearbook.

For the yearbook we already have the theme and the name of the book. I can’t reveal too much because I know that some of the people who read this go to my school. We are keeping the theme a secret so that when we get the books it will be a surprise. School has become so technological, besides the regular process of buy your yearbook at a table during school you can now even buy it online!

Teen Vogue and Twist Magazine

07 Aug

For my birthday I got two magazine subscriptions to two of the best magazines for Teens. The two magazines are really different; Teen Vogue is more about fashion, music and make- up while Twist is more about the drama and the gossip of your favorite stars.

Twist has a lot of quizzes which are so much fun to do, I love them! One of my favorite sections in the magazine is How Embarrassing!  The Twist readers send in story’s about stuff that has happened to them that was embarrassing no mater if it is so bad that you should go and hide or just shake it off.

Teen Vogue is all about fashion. It is filled with outfit ideas, what colors are best to wear that season. When I subscribed to Teen Vogue I bought the deal where I purchase one year then get a year free. I also get a teal messenger bag! :)

Nine Lives of Chloe King

20 Jul

Nine Lives of Chloe King

The Nine Lives of Chloe King is my new favorite show on ABC Family. The show has been on for a couple of weeks now and for those of you who have never seen it I included the pilot trailer in this post so you can see what the show is all about.

On Chloe’s 16th birthday she starts to notice changes.  She can do things that are NOT normal. The next day people start to chase Chloe and they push her off the top of a building.  After a drastic fall, she survives when it should have actually killed her. Two kids from her school tell her that she is Mai, which is another race. They refer to her as the Uniter which is supposed to save the Mai from humans.  Chloe had nine lives until her fall from the building.  You should watch to see if Chloe will keep her eight lives!

Have you seen Nine Lives of Chloe King?

I got my cartilage pierced!

14 Jul

I have been wanting to get my cartilage pierced for a couple of years now and I finally got it done! I had to get it done at a tattoo shop because they are the only ones who still pierce cartilages nowadays. When we were on our way to get it done I started freaking out because I hate pain and needles. They used a hypodermic needle to pierce my ear. My mom and my Nana were videoing me getting it done which I did not like at all.

The piercing artist who did it had to put a clamp on my ear first then he put the needle through. When the needle was going through it hurt like crazy! It felt like someone had lit a match and put it up to my ear. But in the end I was happy that I got it done.

The man who did it was the owner of the shop and he gave me two stickers and a really nice t-shirt that is pink. It has the logo on the front and is super cute.

After getting it done I went to a fair and my ear was hurting non-stop. It was really hard to sleep the first night. I can’t wait till it heals because then I get to change out the earring and put in a prettier one. lol

Shadow Pictures

09 May

The other day at school during lunch some of my friends and I were outside taking shadow pictures. It started out with us debating over which way was the correct way to make a heart with your hands. Then we started making them on the ground with our shadows and I got the idea to take pictures of them. Have you ever made shadow art with your hands?  What shapes can you create?

Disney’s Magic Healthy Living Games

18 Apr

DSC_0856Disney’s Magic Healthy Living Games was a great experience for me. I had such a great time playing all the games and hanging out with kids my age. I got to play games that I have never played before like Chinese jump rope. Let me tell you, Chinese jump rope is really hard, I could not quite get the hang of it.

We had 4 girls and 4 boys on our team so when we played the games it was boys vs. girls. The girls beat the boys every time! It was kinda sad they didn’t win even one game. They did have fun anyways and came close to beating us once.

I also got to meet Darrell Green, a former NFL player, who was the host of the event. He was really nice.

Full Disclosure: I was given the chance to participate in Disney’s Magic of Healthy Living Games while attending Disney’s Social Media Moms Celebration with my mom.  I had a blast participating and love the idea of the whole program reminding kids to stay active and healthy.
